The Global African Women in Medicine (GAWIM) Summit, organized by the Excellence In Medicine Ladies Network (EIM), will take place on March 8, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel, G.R.A. Ikeja, Lagos. This prestigious event coincides with International Women’s Day 2025 and focuses on the theme “Empowering the Next Generation of Women in Medicine.”
The summit will bring together distinguished healthcare professionals, educators, innovators, and leaders from across Africa and the global medical community. It will be chaired by Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, with keynote speaker Dr. Olutoyin Akande, CEO of JBS Gerontology Center.
The event will feature panel discussions on breaking barriers in medicine, healthcare innovation, mentorship, and work-life balance. It aims to inspire and encourage Global African female doctors to pursue leadership roles, build networks, and contribute to healthcare transformation, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 5, 8, and 10.
Founded by Dr. Olajumoke Ladapo-Osinuga, EIM is a global network providing mentorship, resources, and support to early and mid-career female doctors connected to Africa, helping them achieve excellence in their careers and make sustainable healthcare impacts.
